We’re working with a highly regarded independent firm in Leeds that’s growing steadily and offering a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join their expanding team.

The Role

As a Senior Accountant, you’ll manage a diverse portfolio of clients, overseeing the preparation of accounts and tax returns, supporting junior staff, and acting as a key point of contact for clients. You’ll also have the opportunity to get involved in advisory work and business development as the firm continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing and reviewing year-end accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
  • Preparing and reviewing corporation tax and personal tax returns
  • Managing your own client portfolio and maintaining strong relationships
  • Reviewing work of junior team members and providing feedback and support
  • Assisting clients with queries, software, and general accounting advice
  • Supporting partners with ad hoc advisory and planning projects
  • Ensuring compliance with deadlines and professional standards
  • Helping drive process improvements and embracing cloud technology

About You

  • ACA / ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience)
  • Strong background in an accountancy practice environment
  • Confident managing client relationships and reviewing work
  • Good knowledge of accounting standards, corporation tax, and VAT
  • Proficient with cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
  • Proactive, professional, and keen to contribute to a collaborative team culture
