A well established sports organisation in Blackburn are looking for a hands on Management Accountant to take ownership of the finance function and support its next phase of development. The Opportunity
You will run the finance function day to day, reporting into an experienced Group Finance Director and working closely with a supportive Group Management Accountant. You will partner with senior leadership to drive performance, strengthen controls and support long term strategic planning. This is a role with genuine ownership and influence, suited to someone who enjoys variety and wants to play a key part in shaping an organisation’s future.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the finance function and day to day financial management
- Deliver accurate and insightful monthly management accounts to support decision making
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and cashflow planning across the organisation
- Manage payroll and statutory returns, including VAT
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and financial reporting standards
- Maintain and enhance financial controls, processes and systems
- Supervise and develop an existing finance team member
- Oversee operational revenue streams and reconciliations
- Act as a key finance partner to senior leadership and external stakeholders
About You
- Experience in a management accounting role, QBE or part-qualified, or qualified
- Organised, detail focused and comfortable managing competing priorities
- Strong systems capability, including accounting software and Excel
- Willing to be hands on while contributing at a strategic level
- Confident communicator, able to work closely with senior stakeholders
- Interested in working within a professional sports environment
